Anne Lorenz

Anne Lorenz studied product design at the Karlsruhe University of Art and Design. During her studies, she worked for renowned design studios in cities such as Paris and Rio de Janeiro. Among those design studios was Marc Newson Ldt.

She has worked as a designer in Hamburg since 2010 and was among the nominees for the German Design Award 2012.

Anne Lorenz

After completing her vocational training as a ceramist, Birgit Hoffmann studied industrial design in Kiel and worked for designers such as Studio & Partners in Milan and Peter Maly Design in Hamburg. In 2006, she founded her own design studio with a focus on furniture design and interior design.

In 2011 she teamed up with Hansjörg Helweg and assisted with the creation of the brand Freifrau Sitzmöbelmanufaktur as art director.

After an apprenticeship as a cabinet maker Christoph Kahleyss (*1963) studied industrial design at the Muthesius Kunsthochschule in Kiel. After working for a number of design studios such as Berger Associates, New York and Jürgen Lange Design, Stuttgart he founded his own office in Hamburg in 1993.

From 2006 he was first working for Peter Maly and then as his partner from 2009 – 2013. Since 2009 he is also working in a partnership with Birgit Hoffmann.

The Berlin-based studio of Hauke Murken (*1963) and Sven Hansen (*1969) was founded in 1999. The design duo already won several design awards for their designs – mostly with products for the kitchen and furniture industry. Their working principles are clarity and simplicity. As a source of inspiration the duo states „Idea Ping-Pong“ as well as intentionally working and thinking in the wrong direction.

Eva Paster (*1971) and Michael Geldmacher (*1968) met while studying industrial design in Munich and founded their own studio in 1999. Initially, the focus of the duo was placed on classic industrial design, such as medical devices, toys and cosmetic products. Since 2005, the duo more and more turned their work towards furniture design and since then worked for international renowned manufacturers.

University of Hanover. During his studies he already gained experience by working at a design office. In 2007 he founded his own studio ‘Patrick Frey Industrial Design’ after three years of working together with Markus Boge at their design office Frey & Boge.

With many of his products, Patrick Frey won internationally renowned design awards. From 2012 to 2013 he taught at the HAWK University for Applied Sciences and Arts. Since 2014 Frey is teaching at the University of Hanover.
